The tourism sector is constantly evolving. In recent years, marketing and new technologies have caused the traditional model to change, forcing professionals to constantly retrain. The Principality of Andorra has become the meeting point for countries where snow and mountains are the keystone to the economy. The Snow and Mountain Tourism World Congress has been held since 1988, organised jointly by the UNWTO, the Government of Andorra and the seven Andorran Comú (local authorities). Each session is led by a different Comú and this year the task of coordination has fallen to the Comú of La Massana, a high mountain parish, with tourist attractions in both winter, with the snow taking centre stage, and summer, with adventure activities and a wide range of natural and cultural tourism. The ideal setting, therefore, for the 7th Snow and Mountain Tourism World Congress, taking place on the 11th and 12th April, 2012.
We are proposing two intense days, to reflect and draw opinions on the present and future of mountain tourism. We have some of the best professionals in the sector from the international field, with whom you can share experiences and opinions. The congress' scientific committee will be giving out the title and programme for this new session soon.
The organizing team has been working for months to make your stay in La Massana profitable and, at the same time, unforgettable. We will keep you up-to-date with any news and look forward to seeing you in La Massana, a parish that offers mountains of emotions. |
